Andy Chen, M.D., is a comprehensive ophthalmologist at The Eye Clinics of Michigan, serving patients in Brownstown Charter Township, MI. He specializes in cataract surgery, glaucoma, diabetic eye care, dry eye, and macular degeneration evaluations.
From a humble upbringing, Dr. Chen was the first person in his family to attend college and medical school. He completed a 5-year bachelor and master program in 4 years at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. He then attended the University of Michigan Medical School with a generous merit-based scholarship. Afterward, he graduated with distinction in research and focus in global health and disparities.
During his rigorous medical training, he published multiple research articles to advance the management of diabetic eye disease. He also devoted his time to serving his community through Kellogg Eye Center Hope Clinic, University of Michigan Asylum Collaborative, Food Gatherer’s Community Kitchen, and other volunteering experiences.
